Thing you have found most helpful
as a non-traditional student:
The Student Support Services- Academic Assistance Center
at UMC is very helpful with your classes and just to be
able to talk to.
Any words of encouragement for others that might
be looking at pursuing a degree?
My biggest fear of coming back to school was being in classes
with way younger students. But it turned out they are super
at helping me if I am stumped in a class. I also was afraid
that I wouldn’t do well but it is easy once you get
the flow of studying and doing assignments on time. I found
out I could take chances and push my self harder. I feel
a lot better being able to see my accomplishments every
week by quizzes, texts, and reports. I also qualified and
received the Carol McPherson Scholarship. It sure was a
big help and made me feel special to go to the campus in
Minneapolis and receive the Scholarship.
