| Mitch earned his degree in Manufacturing Management
through an innovative program at work. UMC and Marvin Windows
& Doors partnered to bring employees at the Warroad plant
an accelerated degree program with on-site evening courses.
Building on previous college credits, Mitch enrolled in classes
that met for two nights a week and completed his degree in
three years. "I have a pretty good job, but the degree
is the icing on the cake," he said. "There wasn't
a class I took that I couldn't bring something back to my
work. It enhanced my tool chest for doing my job. I'm more
confident in what I can do with my job, and with my life."
Marvins is not alone in providing employee education benefits.
This fall Polaris Industries began offering the Manufacturing
Management program to their employees. Utilizing employee
education benefits and on-site delivery options are just a
few of the creative ways students learn and earn more with
UMC. |
